The Herbert Hoover Presidential Museum is now open daily to the public for viewing of the permanent galleries on the life and times of Herbert Hoover, tickets are available in person or online.

The Research Room is open to the public Monday through Friday, 9:00-12:00, and 12:30-4:15. Appointments are encouraged and can be made by calling (319) 643-5301 or via email: hoover.library@nara.gov.

Your group will only have start times scheduled for the Museum (one hour) and the Historic Site (one hour). You may schedule any of the following activities at your leisure:

  • Biography of Herbert Hoover, a 22 minute film that runs on the hour, every hour
  • Tour of the temporary exhibits in the Museum
  • Visit to the grave-site of Herbert and Lou Hoover
  • Visit to the Museum Gift Shop
  • Lunch in a picnic shelter
  • Self-guided tour of the Prairie Walk

*Additional visitors must pay general admission. This does not include admission to public programs or special events. Free admission is only valid at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library-Museum with school identification. Valid for Iowa teachers and teachers from Illinois who have scheduled school tours.
