BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Charles Edison, son of Thomas Alva Edison, was Secretary of the Navy and Governor of New Jersey before working for the First Hoover Commission. From 1951 until his death in 1969 Edison lived in the Waldorf Astoria.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The collection contains correspondence, clippings, and printed material relating to Herbert Hoover, especially his illness and funeral.
