In addition to searching the National Archives catalog to find photographs, documents, and other materials to use in your classroom, we have categorized digital materials related to President Hoover by topics.

  • National Archives Catalog
    • To simplify your search, we recommend:
      • Select “Archival Descriptions with Digital Content” at the top of the page.
      • If you have a specific topic you are looking for materials, enter a key term in the “Keywords” section (ex: Great Depression). If this is left blank, you will receive all digital materials in the catalog.
      • If you only want to search one library, scroll down to the “Location of Archival Materials” section and select the library or libraries that you want to search.
      • To access the catalog, click "National Archives Catalog" above.

Civics for All of US is a new national civic education initiative from the Hoover Library and the National Archives. Our mission is to build civic literacy and engagement by providing exemplary civic education resources and programs for all ages using the records of the U.S. Government.

Civics for All of US delivers thought-provoking educational programs and powerful educational resources to the public, regardless of their proximity to a National Archives facility. Each program is led by one of our educators located at National Archives sites, the Center for Legislative Archives, and Presidential Libraries across the country.

For more information and to schedule a program, visit the Civics for All of US website.

National History Day® is a year-long academic enrichment program that challenges students to take ownership of the past by conducting original historical research about topics of their choosing and presenting their findings in creative research projects. Working individually or in small groups, participants learn how to think critically and communicate through various formats while building self-confidence and a sense of responsibility for and involvement in the democratic process. To learn more, visit the State Historical Society of Iowa.

Listed are links to the National History Day website, free webinars, student workshops, current topics and practical help for projects.

The Presidential Primary Sources Project allows your class to engage in live, interactive discussions to learn about our nation’s presidents.
