JOHN G. NORRIS PAPERS, 1944-1973
John G. Norris was born in Washington, DC. He married his first wife Frances in 1935. She dies in 1977. Norris was a journalist who worked for the Washington Post from 1938 to 1968. During World War 2 he served as a public relations officer in England, France, and the western Pacific. Norris died on April 2, 1993.SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The collection consists of copies of correspondence, primarily letters written by Norris to Frances. The materials in folder four were written when Norris was a correspondent based on U.S.S. Missouri. Folder five contains clippings and letters about articles written by Norris. Correspondents include: Washington Post owner Philip Graham, Senator Stuart Symington, and General Omar Bradley.
