NATHAN W. MACCHESNEY PAPERS

SERIES DESCRIPTIONS

The papers of General Nathan William MacChesney are not in their original order. Case files 1‑47 were rearranged and described before the papers arrived at the Library, and are maintained in this manner at the request of the donor. The cross references were also made before the papers arrived.  The balance of the collection was arranged and described by the Library staff in a manner to demonstrate MacChesney's career as a statesman, educator, and jurist.
