BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

James H. Douglas, Jr. was born on March 11, 1899 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He had a career as a lawyer in Chicago, and served as Assistant Secretary of Treasury in 1932 and 1933.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The collection documents his time as Assistant Secretary of Treasury, containing letter-press copybooks of outgoing correspondence, logs of telephone calls and office visitors, and press release copies of speeches.
